Level 1 Safeguarding Course, Stevenage, Thursday 25th April 2019

This course is aimed at all staff who are in contact with children and young people, 3 years certification

This dynamic short course is designed especially for those who need basic grounding in child protection but do not need the indepth training necessary for designated personnel.  In a very 'hands on' style we look at what abuse, how it might be recognised in children & young people and move on to discuss how and when to react, in lines with best practice guidelines and legislation. The session will include practical ways to create a protective environment around children to minimise the risk of exploitation by those who would offend.  We also look at ways to keep staff and volunteers safe from allegations against themselves.

Who is the training for?

All those working with children and young people have a legal duty to safeguard children – and having up-to-date knowledge and awareness of the subject is essential.

Any individual who has regular or intensive contact with children or young people aged 16 years+.

The training is suitable for paid staff and volunteers working in the Children’s and Young people sector.

Course cost: £60 per participant

MEMBERS DISCOUNT: Staff - 30% i.e. £42 & Volunteer 50% i.e. £30.
